Install & connect AI
Activate and connect at least one AI provider (Anthropic, OpenAI, or Gemini). The plugin uses its own monthly quota — your own key is optional and unlocks higher volume.

IPTC data reads on upload
Every image you upload is scanned for embedded IPTC and EXIF data. Creator, copyright, location, and existing keywords populate the attachment record automatically.

AI analyzes the image visually
Click Generate (or let Pro auto-run it). The AI looks at the actual image — not just the filename — and writes alt text and title that describe what’s in the photo.

IPTC seeds the AI context
Creator, copyright, location, and existing keywords from the image’s IPTC block are passed to the AI as context. The result is alt text grounded in accurate metadata, not invented from the filename or surrounding content.
Three providers, automatic failover
Connect Anthropic, OpenAI, and/or Gemini — in any combination. If the first provider is over quota or returns an error, the plugin moves to the next one automatically. No interrupted batches, no manual retries.
Structured data travels with the image
ImageObject schema is emitted for every image with a populated alt text, creator, and copyright. The licensing and attribution data that lives in the image’s IPTC block becomes machine-readable structured data for Google Image Search.

Does it automatically process new uploads?
Free tier: No — you trigger generation per image or in a manual batch. Pro tier: Yes — every new upload is queued and processed automatically in the background, so your library stays current without any editor action.
Will it overwrite my existing alt text?
No. Generation skips images that already have an alt text unless you explicitly request an overwrite. The audit view shows which images have AI-written vs. manually-written alt text so you stay in control.
Which AI providers can I connect?
Anthropic (Claude), OpenAI (GPT), and Google Gemini. The plugin includes its own monthly call quota — you only need your own key to exceed those limits or to prefer a specific model. Keys are stored encrypted in the WP options table, not in any Jexii server.
What is IPTC data and why does it matter?
IPTC is a metadata standard embedded in image files — it’s where professional photographers store creator credit, copyright notice, caption, location, and keywords. Jexii Optimize reads these fields on upload and writes them to the WP attachment record, so credit and licensing don’t vanish the moment a photo enters your media library.
Does bulk processing happen in the background?
Yes (Pro). The batch runs as a WP-Cron job — your admin stays usable while the library is processed. The audit dashboard shows progress and any images that failed (usually due to an API timeout), which you can retry individually.
